Are you a dynamic, innovative and culturally responsive teacher with expertise in Economics and/or Politics and Law?
We are seeking to establish a pool of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teachers with the ability to teach Economics and/or Politics & Law for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Role
The School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) is seeking dedicated, motivated and innovative teachers of Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Economics and/or Politics and Law. We are looking for enthusiastic and culturally sensitive operators with strong curriculum knowledge, who will ideally bring classroom energy into our online environment, inspiring and engaging our students around Western Australia and beyond. Suitable applicants would also teach lower secondary students in HASS, therefore strong knowledge of teaching the lower secondary HASS curriculum at all year levels is highly regarded.
As a teacher at SIDE, you will be fully supported to develop your skills in online teaching, enabling you to create engaging and culturally responsive materials to cater for student diversity. Graduate and newly qualified teachers with the required curriculum knowledge are also encouraged to apply for this pool.
Suitable applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team. Having a positive attitude with the ability to anticipate and adapt to change, and showing initiative, flexibility and creative problem solving to produce the best opportunities for students will be highly regarded.
