About the Role

The Import Operator is responsible for managing the end-to-end import process for sea freight shipments. You will coordinate shipments, manage documentation and customs clearance, liaise with clients and overseas partners, and ensure timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage import sea freight shipments from pre-alert to final delivery
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, depots, and local transport providers
• Prepare and process import documentation and ensure compliance with customs and biosecurity requirements
• Provide updates to clients, resolve issues, and maintain service standards
• Verify supplier invoices and assist with billing

Skills & Experience

• Experience in import sea freight operations or freight forwarding
• Knowledge of shipping documentation, customs procedures, and quarantine requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in freight forwarding systems (CargoWise) and MS Office
