About the role

As an Oral Health Therapist, you will join the dedicated team of dental professionals at Somersmiles Dental, a thriving dental practice located in Somerville, Victoria. In this contract role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care and treatments to our valued patients. Your primary focus will be on promoting optimal oral health through preventive and restorative dental services. This role is to cover our Oral Health Therapist who is taking a well-earned holiday from October - December.

What you'll be doing

Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients

Perform a range of dental procedures, including scale and cleans, fillings, and other restorative treatments

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide advice on maintaining good dental health

Collaborate with the dentist and dental assistants to ensure seamless patient care

Maintain accurate patient records and follow all relevant practice policies and procedures

Actively participate in continuing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest dental practices and technologies

What we're looking for

Registered Oral Health Therapist with a Bachelor's degree in Oral Health or equivalent

Proven experience in delivering high-quality dental care in a clinical setting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and engage patients

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing safe, efficient, and patient-centred care

Proficient in the use of dental equipment and software systems

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic dental team
