The Position

BOILERMAKER

Full-time, Rockhampton

As a Boilermaker, the underlying focus is providing utmost satisfaction to the client by ensuring tasks and projects are completed within the allocated period of time, within the budget that has been assigned and adheres to the Engineering Manufacturing Standards.

The position will work with Moloney & Sons Engineering’s Manufacturing Director in this regard. As part of this role, the opportunity to increase Moloney & Sons Engineering’s capability should be pursued. The role will also assist with implementation of the Company systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensure all tasks are carried out safely.

Perform assigned duties in a timely & safe manner.

General duties: Processing of materials in preparation for fabrication, including reading & interpreting cutting & parts lists, Fabrication/assembly of processed parts in an accurate & timely manner ready for quality checks, welding of quality checked assemblies to a high standard as directed, Finishing/polishing/sanding of welded components ready for finishing or deliveries. Daily operation of tools & equipment such as grinders/polishers, bandsaws, welders (mig & tig), guillotine & pressbrake operations, forklifts operations (loading & unloading of freight form trucks), general hand tools & marking/measuring tools.

Co-ordinate & work in a team environment.

Maintain & use equipment as designed.

Ensure that work is performed as per job cards to a high quality standard and completed in the specified time frames.

Daily timecards are to be completed accurately & on time.

Assist in the management of a harmonious environment, team building & training of apprentices & other employees as required.

Adherence to company procedures.

Requirements
This position requires an ongoing certificate of engineering fabrication with experience in the metal fabrication industry.

General Structural knowledge

Reading & interpreting shop detail drg’s accurately & in a timely manner is essential.

Fabrication/assembly of single parts as per shop detail drgs.

Welding – Proficient in Mig (mild steel & aluminium) & tig welding of aluminium & stainless steel.

Good communication skills.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Problem solving skills.
