Our Client is an established underground hard rock mining operations producing base metals (polymetallic deposits). Renowned for their usage of advanced fleet of cutting-edge autonomous mining/drilling technology, they maintain a strong focus on productivity, safety, and a positive team culture. We’re seeking a skilled Jumbo Operator experienced with Sandvik 421 / DD421i drills to perform underground development, ground support installation, and face mark-ups in a safe and productive environment

The roster is 7 and 7 off, Days and Nights rotating shift. Flexible working options as a residential-live-in NSW based and or DIDO from surrounding areas of the Central Western NSW regional areas (Orange, Dubbo, Cobar and Nyngan)

Key Duties

Operate conventional and Sandvik iSeries/ Epiroc Boomer series jumbo drills for development and ground support.

Read and follow mine development plans and grades.

Install bolts, mesh, and perform rehab and scaling.

Noticing faults in ground and reporting to Geotech and supervisor where needed

Mark up faces, read and interpret plans with varying grades, heights, and drive sizes, and carry out rehab and spot bolting as needed.

Conduct daily machine inspections and assist fitters when required.

About You

You must hold a Certificate III in Underground Metalliferous Mining with core competencies in development drilling and proven underground experience operating Sandvik i-Series or Epiroc (Atlas Copco) Boomer jumbo drills featuring automation, boom positioning, and advanced control systems.

A current Verification of Competency (VOC) for the relevant jumbo Sandvik/Epiroc/or equivalent model is required, coupled with valid Confined Spaces, Working at Heights, and Senior First Aid Certificates, a current Driver’s, LR, and MR Licence, and other relevant RPL/ USI underground competencies.

A solid understanding of development procedures and ground control standards is essential.
