Cargo Road Wines is one of Orange’s oldest and most scenic vineyards, producing distinctive, handcrafted wines with a focus on true sustainability, quality, and community. We’re expanding our team and looking for reliable, hands-on people who share our passion for great wine, good company, and life on the land.

Part Time Farm/Vineyard Hand

Hours: Part Time 4 day (flexible, with potential for extra work upon capability)

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in doing a job properly, can work independently, and enjoys variety in their workday.

Duties include:

Fencing

General property maintenance

Landscaping and mowing (including campsite areas)

Sheep work and livestock handling

Tractor driving - slashing, spraying and crimping

paddock establishment

Machinery upkeep and basic mechanical maintenance

Chain sawing and firewood harvesting

Occasional winery and forklift work

Contract tractor work for other vineyards

Vineyard Work/Maintenance

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be:

Experienced in general farm operations and machinery use

Self-motivated and able to work independently

Physically fit and safety-conscious

Competent with tractors, implements, and basic mechanical repairs

Comfortable working across fencing, livestock, and general property care

Additional tickets or licences (e.g. forklift, chemical handling, chainsaw) are an advantage but not essential.

Casual Cellar Door Staff

Hours: Casual 2 - 4 days (must be able to work Weekends and Public Holidays)

Duties include:

Hosting wine tastings and sharing knowledge about our wines

Wine sales and customer service

Working events/nights occasionally

Preparing and serving charcuterie boards and coffee

Keeping the cellar door, loft, kitchen, and bathroom clean and tidy

Ensuring the space is always welcoming and presentable

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Friendly, confident, and enjoys talking with people

Well-presented and reliable

Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment

Able to take initiative and keep the space clean and organised

Holds (or is willing to obtain) an RSA certificate

Full Time All-Rounding Property Assistant

Hours: 5 days (Must be able to work Saturdays and Occasional Public Holidays)

Key Duties Include:

Wine club administration and customer communication

Handling bookings and assisting with events

Managing and posting on social media accounts

Sheep work, fencing, and general property maintenance

Assisting in the warehouse, winery, and vineyard

Supporting cellar door operations including tastings and wine sales

Staff coordination and task management

About You

We’re seeking someone who is:

Organised, proactive, and adaptable

Comfortable balancing physical outdoor work with administrative and customer-facing tasks

A strong communicator with good people skills

Competent with basic computer and social media use

Physically fit and ready to pitch in wherever needed

Keen to learn and expand their knowledge across all areas of the property
