About the Role

This is a hands-on, live-on role ideally suited to someone with a trade background in electrical or diesel mechanics, and strong experience maintaining essential services in a remote setting.

You'll take charge of all island maintenance operations, including solar power systems, generators, desalination, refrigeration and sewage treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance of infrastructure, utilities, plant, and equipment

Operate and maintain:

Solar power systems

Diesel generators

Desalination plant

Sewage treatment plant

Water storage and distribution systems

Refrigeration & Air conditioning systems

Lead or coordinate external contractors and trades as needed

Maintain accurate records of servicing, safety checks, and regulatory compliance

What We’re Looking For

Trade qualified in electrical or diesel mechanics preferably

Experience with solar energy systems, diesel generators, water and wastewater treatment, and desalination

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment

Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills

Previous experience in isolated or island environments highly regarded

Experience managing a team
