About the Role

Elephant Thai Café is a well-known Thai restaurant in Nowra, NSW, serving authentic Thai food with warm hospitality. We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager who can oversee daily operations, maintain high service standards, and ensure the restaurant runs efficiently and profitably.

You will be responsible for managing budgets, leading staff, maintaining compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, and delivering an excellent dining experience that reflects the restaurant’s reputation and ethos.

Responsibilities

• Manage the restaurant budget and oversee bookkeeping activities.

• Create employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing at all times.

• Maintain stock levels and order supplies as necessary.

• Ensure the restaurant complies with all hygiene, health, safety, and licensing requirements.

• Collaborate with chefs to develop menu ideas and meal plans.

• Audit inventory to ensure product availability and control wastage.

• Recruit, train, supervise, and develop restaurant staff (front and back of house).

• Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling, equipment, and property.

• Keep accurate financial records and assist with reporting.

• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.

• Manage staff conflicts, feedback, and performance.

• Ensure food safety standards are consistently met.

• Work with management to achieve revenue targets and control costs.

• Support marketing initiatives to increase sales and customer engagement.

• Implement strategies to improve operations and resolve adverse trends.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving and time-management abilities.

• Understanding of Thai or Asian cuisine is highly regarded.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
