SOCO Event Hire is where unforgettable moments begin – and we’re looking for a curious, detail-loving Marketing Assistant to join our crew in Shellharbour.

This is the perfect entry-level role if you’re keen to kick off your marketing career in a fast-paced, creative industry. One day you’ll be scheduling socials, the next you’ll be supporting an email campaign, pulling together reports, or updating the website to keep things looking fresh.

You’ll get a taste of everything: social media, digital marketing, admin, and campaign support – with plenty of space to learn and grow along the way.

This is a casual role with hours ranging from 8-15 hours per week initially.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

No two days are the same at SOCO. Here’s what you’ll be jumping into:

a) Creating and scheduling social media posts that showcase the SOCO brand, our people, and our unique events

b) Keeping an eye on engagement and pulling simple reports to see what’s working

c) Helping with email campaigns (EDMs) that land in inboxes looking sharp

d) Supporting the website with content updates and small SEO improvements

e) Coordinating with suppliers and ordering marketing materials when needed

f) Keeping ClickUp tasks up-to-date so projects run smoothly

g) Pitching in with ideas, details, and improvements that take our marketing from good to great

h) Collaborating across teams (Sales, Styling, Operations, and Warehouse) to make sure every campaign stays aligned and on-brand

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You don’t need years of experience – we’re looking for energy, curiosity, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves. Here’s what will help you shine:

a) A genuine interest in marketing, social media, and digital content

b) Comfortable using Canva, with a good eye for detail and design

c) Organised, reliable, and able to keep on top of multiple tasks

d) A team player who collaborates well across departments

e) Clear communicator who’s confident writing and sharing ideas

f) Adaptable and ready to learn – you’ll be exposed to lots of different tasks

g) Proactive and self-motivated, with a “let’s make it happen” mindset

Bonus points if you’ve got:

Experience with ClickUp, Pipedrive, WordPress, or other marketing/admin tools

Previous exposure to social media management, content creation or marketing roles

Basic understanding of website content management or email marketing platforms
