We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to contribute to one of the largest IT initiatives in a prominent Australian government regulatory agency. This role centers on ensuring data is managed effectively for registry services, involving close collaboration with solution architects in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver strategic guidance and translate high-level strategies into practical plans for registry operations.
• Demonstrate innovative thinking to develop new data solutions across approximately 20 interconnected projects.
• Oversee data delivery, craft transition strategies, and align multiple data platforms for seamless operation.
• Use strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and management.
• Proactively spot opportunities for enhancement, including those that may require additional investment.
• Engage in transformation programs with a government focus, emphasizing registry business processes over basic data cleansing.
• Ideally bring a background in banking and finance, with experience presenting solution architectures in professional forums.
• Handle low-level data architecture tasks, organizing data through APIs to enable rapid transmission.
• Work on core projects such as optimizing search platforms built on Databricks and enhancing data integration for end-users.

The emphasis is on envisioning the target data state, defining pathways to achieve it, and integrating solutions efficiently.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Proven expertise in transformation programs and government settings, particularly registry-related businesses.
• Technical proficiency with Elasticsearch, Databricks, AWS, and API Gateway.
• Excellent soft skills, including stakeholder management and strategic communication.
• Ability to thrive in agile projects, focusing on data platforms and integration.
• Existing clearance is a significant advantage but not essential. Willingness to undergo clearance is required.
