About the role

We are seeking a Network Architect to join a large-scale transformation program delivering complex network designs for Defence. This role involves designing secure, scalable, and resilient network and identity solutions to support distributed systems, multi-site connectivity, & hybrid cloud integration. To be successful you will have strong experience with Fortinet & BGP.

12 month contract + 2x 12 month extensions

Canberra or Sydney

NV1 Clearance / opportunity to upgrade to NV2

About you

10+ years experience as a Solution Architect/Network Architect

Expertise in BGP, Segment Routing, IP routing & network peering

Strong Fortinet experience

Hands-on experience with network hardware, SDN solutions & automation

Knowledge of distributed systems, overlay/underlay networks & hybrid cloud connectivity

Strong documentation & architecture modelling skills (TOGAF)

Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement skills

Prior Defence experience highly regarded but not essential

NV1 Security Clearance (willing to upgrade to NV2)

Responsibilities

Design and deliver secure, scalable network & identity architectures

Define routing strategies using advanced protocols and optimisation techniques

Lead transformation initiatives in SDN, automation & segmentation

Develop integration patterns for container platforms including networking, monitoring & security

Produce documentation, guides & training for stakeholders

Provide SME support and assist with the sustainment of enterprise ICT systems
