Calvary Launceston is offering and exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse to undertake the role of Learning and Development Manager, at St Vincent's and St Luke's Hospital in Launceston.

This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced L&D Manager or Clinical Nurse Educator looking for their next development opportunity.

About the role

The role is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of learning strategies for both nursing and support staff at Calvary Launceston. The Learning & Development Manager, in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services, will identify education and training needs that align with Calvary Launceston’s Clinical Services Plan, the National Safety and Quality Health Services (NSQHS) Standards and Calvary National, Education and Training Framework.

The Learning and Development Manager provides leadership and oversight of a dynamic team of Clinical Nurse Educators, Nursing and Medical Facilitators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify specific learning requirements for each department through annual education needs analysis.
  • Ensure educational activities are identified, with the needs and expectations of our customers understood.
  • Maintains current knowledge of nursing and health care best practice.
  • Coordinate the development of evidence based educational activities to meet the requirements of Calvary Launceston’s quality initiatives.
  • Participate in the development of and effectively manage the education team to meet budget targets.
  • Coordinate training and education to facilitate staff to be compliant with mandatory training requirements in line with Calvary national benchmarks.

What you bring

  • Registration with AHPRA and in possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Certificate 3 in Training and Assessment preferred.
  • Experience in leadership roles.
  • Commitment to continue professional development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing issues and practices pertaining to position.
  • Good computer literacy and ability to run reports.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in similar role.
  • Post graduate qualification in education.
