Council Planner – Independent Contract Role

About Us:
Sculpture U provides pre-construction services for residential and subdivision Developments across South Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess development applications for compliance with planning regulations

• Prepare planning reports and recommendations

• Liaise with developers, architects, and engineers

• Interpret and apply council planning schemes and relevant legislation

• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth approval processes

Requirements:

· Town Planning or Urban Planning qualification

· Minimum 1 year experience (3–10+ preferred)

· Proficient in interpreting and applying planning legislation

· Own software, tools & internet access

· ABN, Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance

· Familiar with Australian Standards

Engagement:
• Not an employment role – contractor model only
• Paid per project (hourly/fixed rates you propose) and no workload guaranteed
• All deliverables must meet Australian council guidelines

Application Criteria

Demonstrated experience in the successful delivery of projects involving land use and master planning.

Comprehensive understanding and practical experience with planning legislation and local planning policies.

Proven ability to collect, interpret, and present data and relevant information.

Strong communication skills with the capacity to manage and resolve conflicts effectively.
