Our Family Services Team runs a supported playgroup that has become the heart of our local community. We offer play-based learning sessions for newborns through to five years. We provide a fun, vibrant space to connect with other families and strengthen relationships.

** Our hours of operations are from 8.30am until 1.30pm Mon to Fri (5 hrs paid shift per day)

You will need to be able to manage the dynamics of playgroup participants, work independently and be part of a team. We are looking for creativity, engagement and a commitment to inclusion. This is a physically demanding role which involves set up and pack away and cleaning of playgroup equipment.

To be successful in this position you will require:

A vibrant, enthusiastic and engaging personality.

Experience in working with children / families in some capacity – this may have been gained in an early childhood role, teacher’s aide, disability support, nanny or life experience.

An understanding of the complex issues affecting families and willingness to support vulnerable and disadvantaged families

Have a clear understanding of child development stages and milestones

Great interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to our team culture

Willingness and capacity to use workplace systems

Personal attributes of kindness, patience, flexibility and commitment

Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications in Early Childhood or a related field would be highly regarded

Current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Current driver’s license

A current (less than 12 months old) criminal record check and a working with children check. (We can support you to obtain these.)
