About us:

Compass Consulting Surveyors is a surveying and development consultancy with offices in Dubbo and Orange, NSW. Our work is spread over the central and far west of the state. Our projects include residential and construction setouts, detail and identification surveys, subdivisions, design layouts, field data capture and town planning services.

The Position:

Our firm has a very diverse range of clients, projects and locations. We are looking for a Graduate Surveyor or experienced Survey Technician to work with our growing team. The position is based in Dubbo NSW and will be permanent fulltime. The position involves survey fieldwork, survey calculations, computer drafting and some office administration tasks. The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic with a practical outlook, excellent work ethic and a positive attitude. The successful candidate will be mentored by experienced registered surveyors.

Essential Criteria:

Australian resident

Physical fitness and ability to perform survey work

High level of written and verbal communication and comprehension skills

Field experience

Experience with GNSS and total stations

Experience and ability with survey software

NSW-based experience, particularly dealing with Surveying and Spatial Information Act and Regulation, Surveyor General’s Directions and Registrar General’s Guidelines (International experience will not be taken into consideration)

Knowledge of and experience in reading, interpreting and measuring from and for NSW cadastral survey plans, including crown plans, deposited plans, community and strata plans

Computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Access

WH&S General Construction Induction Certificate (white card) and manual drivers’ licence

Desirable Criteria:

Experience with Leica Viva and Captivate series GNSS and Total Stations

Drafting skills with AutoCAD

Experience with Civilcad Magnet

Field Party leader experience

For Graduate Surveyors only: Knowledge of BoSSI registration process and willingness to undertake the registration process. Financial incentives will be provided for each exam passed.

Remuneration: Above award wages in accordance with experience.
