Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital
As a member of the divisional Learning and Development team you will be responsible for the delivery, assessment and evaluation of Learning and Development programs and activities that reflect best practice standards to achieve excellence in service within the Perioperative area.
We have an 11-month fixed term part-time contract position working 30 hours per week (0.8 FTE) supporting Anaesthetic, Post-Anaesthetic Recovery and Scrub Scout. Consideration may be given to role share (0.4FTE) Anaesthetic and Post Anaesthetic Recovery and (0.4 FTE) in Scrub Scout.
The Position
- Works collaboratively with Department Managers and relevant stakeholders.
- In collaboration with the L&D Manager identifies educational needs through a variety of means (i.e. needs assessment framework) that are aligned with strategic and operational planning, risk management strategy and organisational and local policy.
- Uses adult learning principles when facilitating learning.
- Delivers, assesses and evaluates local learning impact of programs in accordance with standardised models to ensure that outcomes are achieved.
- Provides mentoring, coaching and support to caregivers through experiential learning and assists other members of the team to undertake the same.
- Participate in student supervision (undergraduate and postgraduate) as directed
- Collaborates with a range of health professionals to promote a multi-disciplinary approach to learning.
- Promotes a positive and inclusive workplace learning environment facilitating programs and activities using blended a learning approach.
- Assists with orientation/induction as required.
- Acts as a mentor/support/role model to all caregivers promoting best practice principles
- Provide evidence of completed Learning and Development activities as per the evaluation framework to the Learning and Development Coordinator to ensure record keeping requirements are met.
You will have registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and previous experience in education, with minimum 5 years' experience in the Perioperative clinical setting.
To succeed you will posses a Post Graduate Qualification in Perioperative Nursing. Additionally it is highly regarded if you hold Post Graduate Education qualification.

- Salary $117,134 to $123,300 per annum (pro rata for part time) plus 12% Superannuation
