Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics (MTHC) is a non-for-profit, wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Melbourne and provides world class clinical training opportunities for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences students. It also provides patient access to high quality health care for members of the Victorian community, within a private practice setting. There are six clinical areas that are central to this service, and they include general medical practice, dentistry, optometry, audiology, speech pathology and psychology.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and collaborative Audiologist and Clinical Instructor (Level 2) to join the Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic team on a full-time basis, with consideration for part-time applicants. Guided by our Senior and Lead Audiologists, this role combines clinical practice with education. You’ll deliver exceptional audiology services while helping to mentor and inspire the next generation of Master of Audiology students. Your commitment to quality care will make a real difference to patients’ lives and contribute to the clinic’s ongoing culture of clinical excellence.
In this dynamic role, you’ll conduct adult and paediatric diagnostic assessments and deliver best-practice rehabilitation, including hearing device fitting and ongoing patient support. You’ll also have opportunities to specialise in areas such as tinnitus counselling and broader rehabilitation services. Collaboration lies at the heart of what we do - you’ll work alongside and support the Director of Clinical Services and Lead Audiologists to align service delivery, foster a supportive learning environment, and contribute to the continued growth and success our educational and clinical programs.
About you
Essential Selection Criteria
A tertiary degree in Audiology or equivalent with substantial experience in clinical practice and eligibility to be an Accredited Audiologist (Audiology Australia)
Substantial knowledge and clinical experience in audiology service provision for adults and paediatrics
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately interpret complex audiological test results
Substantial patient management and interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor communication and build effective relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Interest and demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical education
Demonstrated ability to be innovative and analytical to identify creative solutions
Well-developed organisational and time management skills with an ability to work independently
Strong computer skills including all MS Office products
Desirable
Experience providing sound advice on rehabilitation solutions as well as successfully fitting amplification solutions from a wide variety of manufacturers, including demonstrated experience working with Noah and range of manufacturers’ fitting software.
Experience in broad range of audiological services (Paediatric, Rehabilitation, Vestibular, Auditory Processing).
Experience in providing specialised services such as tinnitus management, cerumen management, or musician’s hearing care services.
