About the Role:
As the General Manager - Sales, you will report directly to the CEO and lead a team of divisional and departmental leaders across sales, operations, marketing, and finance. You will be responsible for steering strategic business initiatives, driving sales performance, and fostering a high-performance culture grounded in operational excellence and customer focus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the national business strategy with a focus on sales growth and market share
- Oversee sales and marketing functions to drive commercial performance and customer engagement
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
- Provide commercial leadership on pricing, forecasting, and margin performance
- Drive excellence in financial and operational planning; full P&L responsibility
- Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and collaboration
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing national team
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and ethical standards
- Champion customer relationships, retention, and service quality
About You:
We’re looking for a strategic leader and hands-on operator who brings energy, structure, and accountability to the role. You’re commercially sharp, people-focused, and results-driven.
You will bring:
- Proven executive leadership experience within HVAC, building services, or industrial wholesale
- Demonstrated success in leading teams across sales, operations, and commercial functions
- Strong financial acumen and experience with full P&L responsibility
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and align teams
- Experience managing industrial relations and understanding of OHS and compliance in the Australian market
- Formal qualifications in engineering, technology, or business-related disciplines
- Change management, ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), and project leadership experience is highly desirable
