About the role
As a Nuclear Medicine Nurse Consultant, you will bring advanced clinical expertise to a highly specialised field, working autonomously within your scope of practice while collaborating closely with Nuclear Medicine Medical Officers, Technologists, and Administrative staff at SA Medical Imaging. Based primarily at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, you will play a key role in supporting both inpatient and outpatient care, while also extending your leadership and guidance to nuclear medicine nursing teams across other SAMI sites.
In this pivotal role, you will provide clinical leadership, consultancy, and mentorship, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-focused care. You will accept accountability for your own nursing practice and the outcomes for your patient group, while offering professional advice, delegating care appropriately, and addressing any inconsistencies between practice and policy. About You
You will be a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Consultant who combines advanced clinical knowledge with strong leadership and collaborative abilities. With proven experience and a commitment to excellence in patient care, you will be ready to contribute your expertise in a specialised and evolving field.
Qualifications – Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding (or eligible to hold) a current practising certificate.
Skills and Attributes – Demonstrated leadership with advanced communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills; ability to prioritise workloads, manage change, foster team growth and promote consumer engagement.
Experience – Minimum of three years’ post-registration nursing experience, including supervisory responsibilities, with previous experience in a Nurse Consultant role within a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge – In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, codes and standards, contemporary nursing issues, and the growing role of Nuclear Medicine in both diagnostic and therapeutic care.
