About the role
As the Nurse Unit Manager, Nuclear Medicine, you will provide pivotal leadership and coordination of patient care across SA Medical Imaging Nuclear Medicine services. Drawing on your expert clinical knowledge and experience, you will manage and guide the nursing team to deliver safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care. Working closely with Radiology NUMs across five key sites – RAH, QEH, FMC, WCH and LMH – you will ensure continuity of service and uphold the SA Health quality framework.
This role will see you set the standards for nuclear medicine nursing practice, oversee workforce development, and contribute to the expansion of PET services at QEH and FMC. You will accept accountability for patient outcomes, address inconsistencies between practice and policy, and foster a culture of learning and professional growth. With responsibility for both people and resource management, you will play a central role in building team performance, driving innovation, and shaping the future of nuclear medicine nursing across multiple hospital sites.
About You
You will be an experienced and innovative Nurse Unit Manager who brings strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering safe, person-centred care. With a proven ability to lead teams and manage change, you will inspire others while ensuring high-quality outcomes for patients and their families.
Qualifications – Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and holding (or eligible to hold) a current practising certificate.
Skills and Attributes – Demonstrated leadership with advanced communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills, ability to foster staff development, review and improve care models, and lead consumer engagement and change initiatives.
Experience – At least three years’ post-registration nursing experience, with proven competence in Nuclear Medicine, Medical Imaging or a related area, supported by management, leadership and supervisory experience.
Knowledge – Strong understanding of relevant legislation, codes, standards and healthcare policies, with extensive clinical knowledge of Medical Imaging Nursing and awareness of contemporary professional issues.
