Your new role
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, as a Design Engineer, you will develop and produce detailed engineering designs, drawings, and documentation that support efficient manufacturing and meet customer requirements. Your new role will see you commence at 8:15am Monday to Friday with an early Friday finish.
You will be responsible for ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and ADR regulations. Collaborating closely with Sales, Production, and other engineers, your role will involve preparing full Bills of Materials, conducting FEA analysis, and driving continuous improvements in product design and engineering processes.
Typical daily tasks will include:
- Producing precise engineering drawings (BOMs, processes, instructions) and documentation to support manufacturing for new and batch made tanker products (including slight tweaks to existing designs);
- Developing models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to meet ADR compliance;
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges and improve product quality;
- Maintaining up-to-date engineering records and files, both electronic and hard copy;
- Supporting production with technical guidance and documentation as needed; and
- Participating in engineering and company improvement programs.
What you need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering;
- Minimum 2 years’ post study on the job experience in design engineering or drafting;
- Strong CAD skills with SolidWorks expertise; knowledge of PDM and AutoCAD;
- Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to interpret complex technical data and produce accurate designs; and
- Live local to Melbourne’s North & seeking a long term career move.
