The Role
We are seeking an experienced finance and administration professional to join our Team on a permanent full-time basis. This position is based at our Head Office in Campbellfield conveniently located near the M80 and Hume Fwy, with free onsite parking. Our work environment is professional yet relaxed and perfect for someone who thrives working in a small but collaborative team.
Working closely with our Project Management team and reporting to the Company Director, this role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Employee Records
Process end-to-end payroll for all staff, ensuring compliance with awards, contracts, and relevant legislation.
Maintain employee records including leave, superannuation, and payroll changes.
Manage payroll reporting and ensure timely PAYG, BAS, and superannuation lodgments.
Accounts Support
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and client invoicing.
Process supplier invoices, ensuring correct approval processes and in line with due dates
Allocate expenses accurately across projects
Prepare and issue customer invoices and claims
Track project progress and liaise with Project management team to ensure accurate billing
Operate within Client portals where required
General Accounting and Reporting
Manage working capital and cash flow requirements
Perform bank and account reconcilliations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Ensure compliance with tax and statutory obligations, liaising with external accountants/auditors to support ITR.
Monitor project costing and profitability for infrastructure projects.
Implement and maintain accounting systems and internal controls.
Administrative Support
Support general office administration, including maintaining financial filing systems and document control. Contributing to process improvements and office systems.
About You
Aside from a proactive and positive outlook, you’ll likely bring:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting or bookkeeping (Experience in the construction, infrastructure, or telecommunications sector is an advantage)
Technical skills: Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills and a strong grasp of employee tax obligations and compliance
Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in MYOB accounting/payroll software.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organisation: High attention to detail and organisational skills with strong time management.
Eligibility: Must have the right to work in Australia
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy environment.
