We’re seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy vehicles, trucks, mobile plant, and equipment. You'll be responsible for inspections, diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and workshop safety in compliance with WHS and HVNL regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy diesel equipment

Diagnose faults in engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems

Use diagnostic tools and ensure repairs meet manufacturer specs

Maintain accurate service logs and workshop records

Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with WHS and Chain of Responsibility (CoR)

Mentor junior staff and liaise with suppliers as needed

Essential Criteria:

Trade Certificate in Heavy Diesel Mechanics (or equivalent)

5+ years’ experience with heavy vehicles, trucks, and mobile plant

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Experience with diagnostic tools and ECMs

HR Driver’s Licence (or willingness to obtain)

Strong admin and record-keeping skills

Solid understanding of WHS and CoR obligations

Desirable:

HVRAS or HVIS accreditation

Welding/fabrication skills

First Aid Certification

Background in fleet maintenance

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 25kg, work in various positions, and operate in both indoor and outdoor environments with PPE (provided).
