About the role

Oceans of Support PTY LTD is seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Moreton Bay, Queensland. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and person-centred care to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live independent and fulfilling lives. This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle.

What you'll be doing

Assist clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks

Engage clients in meaningful social, recreational, and educational activities to promote their wellbeing and independence

Advocate for clients' rights and needs, and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and family members

Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure the highest quality of care

Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and industry regulations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients

What we're looking for

A minimun Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability or aged care) or equivalent qualification

At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, providing support to individuals with disabilities

Minimum of 1 year disability support experience is essential for this role

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients and their families

A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities

A demonstrated commitment to promoting independence, inclusion, and the rights of individuals with disabilities

A current CPR and first aid certificate, Blue Card and NDIS screening and Queensland driver's licence

Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position

Fully insured vehicle that can fit a folded wheel chair

Physical fitness to lift folded wheelchair and perform manual handling tasks
