Overview
Join our dedicated team as Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator and contribute to a rewarding environment where every day makes a difference in the lives of our residents.
The Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of our residents by coordinating and delivering engaging cognitive, social, and physical programs tailored to individual needs. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the Coordinator fosters creativity, independence, and meaningful engagement among residents.
Key responsibilities:
- Assessing residents' cognitive, social, and physical needs to inform program development.
- Designing and implementing programs that promote resident well-being and independence.
- Conducting group and individual activities, adjusting strategies based on resident responses.
- Collaborating with volunteers and reporting progress to the Clinical Services Coordinator.
- Liaising with families and friends of residents to ensure inclusive care planning.
- Documenting program outcomes to demonstrate effectiveness.
Essential Criteria
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across diverse backgrounds.
- Capacity to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
- Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with computer-based programs.
- Understanding of customer service principles and commitment to resident-centered care.
A current First Aid Certificate and/or TAFE Certificate III in Aged Care, Community Services, or Diversional Therapy (or equivalent) desirable but not essential
