FamilyLinQ is a unique collaboration between school communities, The Bryan Foundation and the Queensland Government delivering a groundbreaking fully integrated school model incorporating community hub facilities, designed to improve education, health and life outcomes for children and families.
The Role
As a Senior Community Connector at Kingston State School, you’ll:
Build strong relationships with families, including those experiencing complex needs.
Work respectfully with First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Support families to connect with appropriate services, programs and opportunities.
Lead the design and delivery of workshops, programs, activities and community events.
Develop and coordinate the FamilyLinQ volunteering program.
Contribute to hub operations and collaborate with the Partnerships Manager.
Employment Type & Hours
This is a casual position (SCHADS Award Level 6 – hourly rate inclusive of the 25% casual loading).
Shifts are offered on an as-needed basis. In many weeks (particularly during Queensland school terms) we may offer shifts that could total up to around 20–22 hours, usually across several days. Shifts are offered on an as-needed basis. Hours may vary week to week and there is no guarantee of ongoing or regular shifts.
The hub currently operates 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional work outside these times to support community programs and events. When applying, please let us know the days and times you are generally available in your cover letter.
About You
You will bring:
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in diverse settings such as family support, early years, community development, health or education sectors.
Experience supporting families and children, including those with complex needs.
Strong ability to engage with First Nations and CALD communities.
Skills in program design, delivery and community development.
Excellent influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Health, Community Development or Early Childhood.
Current driver licence, reliable vehicle, Blue Card and Police Check.
