About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Youth Worker to provide time-limited complex youth work intervention to children and young people.

• Casual Position.
• Working hours can include early mornings, evenings and weekends (with applicable loading).
• Level 3 under the SCHCADS Award. Hourly rate is $48.31 – $51.81 inclusive of casual loading + Super.

Key Responsibilities:

• Practically support and encourage school participation and relationship with educational environment.
• Follow direction from lead practitioners to ensure practical support to children and young people is achieved.
• Provide transport to children and young people for case goals to be achieved.
• Facilitate social learning, community connectedness, good health, and wellbeing.

About You

• Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (youth work, community services) or studying a relevant tertiary qualification.
• At least two (2) years’ experience providing complex youth work to young people in a child protection context or who have experienced trauma and disruptions in attachment.
• Cultural awareness and an understanding of how to communicate and work effectively with families from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Knowledge of lifespan and developmental stages for children and young people.

• Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
