Room Leader (Educator) – the position
Lead with purpose as a Room Leader at AEIOU, where you’ll create meaningful learning experiences for children with autism in a supportive, early learning environment.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver programmed learning aligned with early childhood frameworks
- Coordinate Early Intervention Specialists and room logistics
- Lead family communication, orientations, and transition planning
- Work within a transdisciplinary team to support each child’s development

The essentials:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care is preferred
- Knowledge of typically developing children (from birth to school age) and theories of early childhood development / Early Years Learning Framework
- Willingness to learn evidence-based intervention strategies and ASD-specific techniques (working with autism)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (including Child Protection Law and the National Quality Standards)
- Understanding of the provision of safe, well planned, indoor and outdoor learning environments
- Experience leading Educators/ Early Intervention Specialist is a great advantage, but not mandatory

AEIOU Foundation is an established early intervention service that supports children in a naturalistic, play-based and neurodiversity affirming environment.
AEIOU is family-focused, so that in addition to supporting children to achieve their individual goals, families receive training and support through online education and parent engagement sessions.
At AEIOU, a dedicated team of education and therapy professionals work together to support each child and family. This team is comprised of speech pathologists, occupational therapists, behaviour support practitioners, early childhood teachers and educators.
