About the Role

In a leading role, design, develop, implement and maintain applications, databases and middleware services that meet the needs of our clinical, business and operational services, including:

  • Cross-application event-based messaging
  • Creating and consuming APIs and Web Services
  • Thin (web) and thick client applications
  • Database design, querying, and data extraction/transfer
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
  • Prioritise work for the team, in accordance with the short, medium and long-term goals, objectives and projects within Digital Health Services, and lead the effort to meet these objectives.
  • Mentor other team members in in developing, maintaining and promoting a high level of client focus, quality customer service, and a commitment to delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Lead team member cross-skilling to enhance the teams multi-disciplinary expertise.
  • Engage directly with clients regarding the articulation of business needs and end-user requirements, including assisting with the creation of initial project proposals.
  • Investigate reported issues, prioritise and address defects within your development scope, and assist with organisation-wide information system optimisation.
  • Compile concise work procedures, solution designs, and document the structure, functions and operations of new and existing information systems and other applications as required.
  • Design in accordance with information management and security best practices while integrating disparate data sources and information systems.
  • Work closely with other teams and team members to pre-empt and solve issues from existing information system implementations.
  • Represent the team as a subject matter expert on project teams to ensure compliance with DHS standards and policies in relation to design and architecture.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and product developments within the ICT/software industry to be able to appropriately provide advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Represent the Integration team as a chair or member (as appropriate) of specified technical and business working groups established within CHQ HHS.
