Risk, Audit and Integrity, Office of the Chief Executive
Alice Springs
One full time ongoing vacancy is available
Transition your extensive experience as a clinician to a professional career in Audit and Risk management without having to leave the health sector.
The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course.
The Risk, Audit, and Integrity division at NT Health plays a crucial role in managing strategic and enterprise risk reporting, internal auditing, and integrity matters.
As the Audit and Risk Partner, your core responsibility is to bring a health-informed perspective to NT Health’s Risk, Audit and Integrity operations in the Northern Territory. Your main goal is to offer strategic guidance on risk management, internal audits, and compliance reviews. This entails providing risk advice, defining audit scopes, and conducting thorough research and analysis.
Located in Alice Springs, this opportunity is well-suited for a seasoned health or allied health clinician looking for a career transition. Your experience in assessing patient safety, managing uncertainty, and handling critical incidents has already honed your risk assessment skills, making you an ideal candidate for this role.
Joining the Risk, Audit, and Integrity team doesn't require you to be an expert in audit and risk frameworks or governance processes. The team is dedicated to supporting you as you acquire new skills and knowledge.
Applicants with a non-clinical background but with proven experience in risk and internal audit frameworks within a medical setting are also encouraged to apply.
In return, you will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package inclusive of 12% superannuation, 6 weeks’ recreation and 3 weeks’ personal leave, additional 3 days paid Christmas closedown leave, 17.5% annual leave loading and real work life balance.
If you reside interstate, this an exciting time to consider relocating to Central Australia.
Alice Springs (or Mparntwe in Arrernte language) is the third-largest town in the Northern Territory, with a population of approximately 33,000 people. The Region has deep spiritual origins dating back more than 30,000 years, and an abundance of rich culture and history. The town is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, including the MacDonnell Ranges and the Red Centre Desert. About 450kms down the road is Uluru, a large sandstone rock formation that is a spectacular sight any time of the year.
