The Mount Barker District Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to work within our Infrastructure Planning Team to deliver engineering design solutions, project scope review and champion the design review process for civil infrastructure projects

Key Responsibilities:

Investigate and undertake engineering designs for civil infrastructure projects in reference to contemporary design guides using AutoCAD Civil3D, DRAINS and similar other design aids

Procurement and management of external consultants and contractors to support designs for infrastructure upgrades and interventions for growth

Support the Project Delivery team with design advice and reviews to drive efficient delivery of detailed designs and documentation.

Establishment and manage the design check/review process and procedure for civil infrastructure designs.

Coordinate the program of design works relating to Strategic Infrastructure plans and priority actions.

Prepare comprehensive design packs for agreed project handover to delivery.

About you:

Bachelor of Civil Engineering or Engineers Australia accredited Professional Engineer

Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil engineering design and/or construction

Experience in performing the technical review of detailed civil infrastructure designs

Experience in the preparation of project definition reports and/or project charters

Practical civil infrastructure construction experience

Knowledge of civil infrastructure design principles with particular respect to municipal stormwater and roads

Understanding of the principles of sustainable asset management

Skilled in municipal engineering practical problem-solving techniques
