About the Role

This role involves providing person-centred care to residents in a Home care setting, many of whom have additional support needs. The ideal candidate will be a young, energetic professional with a minimum of 1 year’s experience in aged care or disability care and the ability to administer medication as part of their daily responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver personal care services including showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance.

Contribute to the review and maintain the individual care plans and NDIS Goal plan

Administer medications safely and accurately (Medication Administration Certificate required).

Support residents with chronic conditions, or behavioral concerns using respectful and professional strategies.

Encourage independence and social engagement through meaningful interactions and participation in activities.

Assist with domestic duties such as room tidying, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery shopping.

Maintain accurate documentation and liaise with healthcare professionals as needed.

Promote resident dignity, safety, and wellbeing at all times.

Providing support to individuals with disabilities under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), assisting with tasks like bowel care, catheter care, and PEG/NG tube feeding. In essence, Enrolled Nurses in disability care bridge the gap between basic care and more complex medical needs, ensuring individuals with disabilities receive the support they require to live fulfilling lives.

Educate patients and their families about managing their disabilities, medications, and other relevant aspects of their care.

What We Expect:

We’re seeking candidates who demonstrate:

Minimum 1 year of experience in aged care or disability support

A Diploma in Nursing

Proven ability to manage medication and behaviors of concern appropriately

A strong work ethic and genuine passion for caring for the elderly

High level of reliability, empathy, and attention to detail

Excellent spoken and written English for effective communication

Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks (up to 10kg)

Mandatory Requirements:

Medication Administration Certificate

First Aid & CPR certifications (valid)

Working with Vulnerable Check (WWVP) & NDIS Worker Check

Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred)

Up-to-date COVID-19 and flu vaccinations

Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation and Supporting Effective Communication modules
