Strategic Projects Commercial Lead - Tier 1 Global Mining Client

A Tier 1 global mining client is expanding its strategic project portfolio and is seeking a high-performing, commercially astute professional to join the team. This is not a traditional Projects Commercial role - we're looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, brings strategic insight, and has a proven track record in project environments.

About the Role
This role will support the delivery of strategic initiatives across a diverse and complex projects portfolio. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping sourcing strategies, driving improvement opportunities, and building sustainable commercial frameworks that align with broader procurement and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the delivery of strategic initiatives across the projects portfolio.
• Identify and drive strategic sourcing opportunities across multiple assets and packages.
• Engage with stakeholders to uncover and implement improvement opportunities aligned to FY26 priorities.
• Support the development of a portfolio-wide sourcing plan that complements the broader procurement strategy.
• Design and implement systems to capture project and package data, enabling aggregated sourcing.
• Develop commercial strategies and lead complex sourcing activities informed by market insights.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships across functional teams, assets, and supplier networks.
• Champion continuous improvement in project, operational, and commercial excellence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience in strategic project delivery and commercial leadership.
• Comfortable operating in undefined environments and shaping new processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities.
• Deep understanding of sourcing, procurement, and market dynamics.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to drive change across functions.

This role is based in Perth CBD but offers a fully flexible working week with work from home. Initially, we are looking for someone to commit to a minimum of 6-12 months.
