The WHS Advisor will play a critical role in ensuring workplace health and safety compliance across a diverse community services organisation. This role involves a mix of hands-on safety activities, along with assisting with the implementation of broader safety and risk management systems and practices.

Description

• Develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective risk management strategies are in place.
• Deliver WHS training and provide guidance to staff and management.
• Monitor and report on compliance with WHS regulations and internal policies.
• Investigate incidents and recommend preventive measures to minimise risks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of WHS activities, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Provide expert advice on workplace health and safety matters to management and staff.

Profile

A successful WHS Advisor should have:

• Formal qualifications in WHS
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and industry standards in Australia.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in assessing risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.
• Ability to lead WHS training sessions and promote safety awareness.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate incidents effectively.
