We are seeking a Passive Fire Consultant to join our growing team and help us continue to set new standards in safety, compliance, and exceptional client service.
About the role
We are seeking a skilled Passive Fire Consultant to lead audits and inspections across residential, commercial, government and retail developments. This role focuses on evaluating passive fire protection systems and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and the Building Code of Australia (BCA). You will provide expert advice, conduct detailed inspections and support clients through complex regulatory processes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform audits and inspections of passive fire systems in accordance with BCA and relevant fire safety standards.
Regular travel to various sites is required for conducting thorough inspections and audits.
Identify non-compliances and prepare detailed Audit reports and Building Defect Reports.
Issue inspection reports, fire safety certificates, and design/installation certifications.
Participate in rectification processes, liaising with contractors and stakeholders to repair non-complainces.
Deliver clear, actionable consulting advice to clients both verbally and in writing.
Assist in preparing fee proposals, project documentation, and tender submissions.
Support project planning, contract administration, and budget tracking.
Oversee rectification works and manage certification and handover procedures.
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
About You
At least three years' experience in Passive Fire Consultancy or AFSS auditing.
Tertiary qualifications in Building & Construction or a related discipline.
Comprehensive knowledge of the BCA, Australian Standards and Home Building Act.
Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated project management skills and experience mentoring junior team members.
Keen attention to detail and the ability to produce complex technical reports.
Fluent in English and highly proficient with computers.
Possession of a current Class C Driver's Licence.
Fire safety certification is required for this position.
