The Team:

The Hobart Continuing Care Team is a dynamic and supportive team that provides longer-term treatment, care coordination, evidence-based interventions, and extended care rehabilitation for individuals. The team works closely with all components of the mental health sector and primary health. The multi-disciplinary team includes psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists and lived experience peer workers. The team supports clinical supervision, professional development, and career development for all staff.

The Role:

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Psychologist will:

  • Undertake the delivery of quality care to consumers based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
  • Provide a specialist assessment and treatment service to consumers and their families or carers.
  • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of consumers with mental health needs.

You will need to:

  • Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through relevant assessment, care coordination, and individual therapies including specialised therapies for consumers and their families or carers.
  • Provision of evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for consumers with major and complex mental health including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
  • Function as an active member of a multidisciplinary team including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Where required for a particular role: Area of practice Endorsement ie, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Counselling Psychology, Community Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Organisational Psychology, or Sport and Exercise Psychology

Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
