The role

Top Scope College Box Hill and Chadstone campuses invite applications from experienced and talented VCE English teachers to join in our dedicated teaching team.

This opportunity is offered as a full time, or part time (0.4-0.6 FTE) or casual for the 2025 school year and ongoing.

This role will facilitate, support and enhance student love and appreciation of the subject. It is expected that all Subject Teachers have a broad and deep understanding of their subject specific content and curriculum.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

Prepare and conduct classes improving skills, as well as fostering a deeper understanding of text conventions and knowledge with a focus on Year 9 to Year 12

Utilise appropriate pedagogical practices to expand the growth of individual students

Employ a variety of strategies to effectively implement the 2025 curriculum

Provide students with a child-safe environment

About you

The successful candidates must possess the following attributes:

Be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching

Be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching

Be available and flexible to work after school hours and Saturdays

For this specific role, applicants will be required to:

Have had a minimum of 3 years VCE English teaching experiences.

Be confident with teaching contemporary techniques, metalanguage and writing conventions in English subjects

Be thorough with the preparation of tests and materials to support students

Work with a range of students of varying abilities

Work with a colleague as a team member in a supportive environment
