Your Impact
As a senior leader within the Community Development Directorate, you will:
- Provide strategic direction and lead continuous improvement across the City’s six Libraries, with diverse facilities and collections designed to enrich our community encouraging continual learning and enhancing creativity.
- Lead the Arts team in creating a liveable, vibrant and prosperous City connecting communities through culturally significant visual art and public art collections and community art initiatives, such as exhibitions, workshops, events, awards and activities.
- Oversee the City’s culturally diverse and thought-provoking history. Leading a passionate team dedicated to preserving and presenting historical artefacts, documents and stories. Including managing the rich history at the Mount Flora Museum with photographs, displays, artefacts, and captivating stories.
- Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive team culture through coaching, mentoring, and resource management across multiple buildings, collections and services.
- Lead service planning, budgeting, and delivery of capital and operational initiatives
- Drive innovation through creative project management and community engagement to deliver contemporary forward-thinking services
- Represent the City with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, advisory groups and committees
What You’ll Bring
- A tertiary qualification in library/information science, arts, community development, or equivalent experience
- Proven leadership in complex service environments with strong stakeholder engagement
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

This permanent full-time position is a Level 9A Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $150,000 - $175,000 gross per annum plus superannuation.
