The Role
I.T.E. are currently on the look out for a Mechanical Engineer, to join our Stage Machinery team in Melbourne.
Stage Machinery installations include but not limited to the following:
Orchestra Pit Lifts, Power Flying Hoists, Curtain Track and Accessories, Curtains, Lighting Bars and many more theatre accessories.
The role will consist of completing quotations and submitting tenders, providing engineering solutions and shop drawings, liaising with manufacturing and installation teams as well as external clients, builders and architects to provide a complete project solution. Industry specific training will be provided, however experience in the theatre machinery or construction sectors is desirable.
The Tasks
Quoting and tendering small and large jobs / projects including preparing all required documentation
Attend site meetings to discuss job requirements and build relationships
Maintaining and growing relationships with clients, builders, architects and industry consultants
Designing project solutions using SolidWorks
Reading architectural / consultant specifications and drawings
Formulate physical and digital project documentation for project co-ordination (shop drawings) with internal project design engineers
Manage & schedule onsite installations which includes the ordering of materials & access plant, co-ordinate with internal team leader installers and co-ordinate with site managers
Provide project information to internal project admin for project invoicing and reporting
Handover the project upon completion including undertaking training, formulate relevant O&M Manuals, compliance documents and service reports as required
Essential Requirements
Mechanical Engineer with 2-3 years of experience
Ability to autonomously & successfully manage projects end to end
Solutions focused
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
Ability to communicate well and build long lasting relationships
Engineering or construction acumen
Computer literate
Ability to support your team by being hands on and assist with site work as required
Ability to manage your own workload and work autonomously
Most importantly, a willingness to learn and take responsibility and be proud of your work
Required Experience
Proficient using engineering software such as SolidWorks
Construction and manufacturing knowledge
