Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (CRAICCHS) is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Organisation. CRAICCHS aims to provide accessible, high-quality, community-controlled primary health care and social and emotional wellbeing services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of the South Burnett.

The Position:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Domestic and Family Violence Wellbeing Specialist to join our Family Wellbeing Service. This role provides culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, wrap-around support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families affected by domestic and family violence. You will deliver integrated service responses, enhance safety, and improve access to both community-controlled and mainstream domestic and family violence services. Based in Cherbourg, with travel across the region.

Key Duties:

Provide specialist advice, guidance and support to Family Wellbeing workers regarding the impacts of domestic and family violence.

Conduct risk assessments and support safety planning for families and workers.

Work collaboratively with Family Wellbeing staff to meet client and family needs.

Participate in client home visits where appropriate.

Assist with client needs assessment, case management and referral decisions.

Develop and maintain referral pathways to specialist services.

Build and maintain partnerships with local, community-controlled and mainstream service providers.

Maintain accurate records, reporting and administration in line with service agreements and organisational requirements.

Contribute to networks, partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.

Essential:

Bachelor’s degree level qualification in Social Work, Community Services or similar.

Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role.

Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

Strong case management skills in a domestic and family violence setting.

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check), or eligibility to obtain a Blue Card.

Current Driver's Licence.

Highly Desirable:

Experience working with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community health organisation.

Previous work within ARC case management system.

Immunisations in line with Vaccination of Healthcare Workers Guideline, including vaccination against vaccine preventable diseases are required.

This position is subject to government funding until March 2026. If government funding is extended, extension to the fixed-term may be available.
