Integration Lead Developer – Event-Driven Architecture

This leading financial services organisation is seeking an Integration Lead Developer to take technical responsibility for a small engineering pod and help shape the future of their integration platform. This is a career-defining opportunity to design and build the APIs and services that connect digital customer channels to core systems, while leading the rearchitecture of their integration layer into an event-driven, modular platform.

The Role

• Provide technical leadership for a team of 5 engineers – guiding design, code quality, and delivery
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and cloud services (Azure, Function Apps, Logic Apps)
• Lead the transition to an event-driven architecture with modularised services
• Balance delivery with architectural uplift – supporting today while building for tomorrow
• Role-model engineering excellence: code reviews, solution reviews, and tackling technical debt

About You

• Strong experience with C# and Node.js across the full development lifecycle
• Proven skills in event-driven architecture (highly desirable)
• Expertise in cloud services (Azure), APIs, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog or Dynatrace
• Collaborative, pragmatic, and motivated to deliver real business value
• Experience in technical leadership/mentoring of other engineers

The Opportunity

• Current focus is 50% support / 50% build, shifting to 80% build in 2026 as the integration layer is rearchitected
• Collaborate closely with Engineering Managers and Architects in a permanent team of skilled engineers

• Excellent pathway to Principal Engineer or Engineering Manager
