Port Stephens Compliance Team are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Compliance Officer. If you are open to fresh ideas, committed and driven to provide the very best service to our community, we want to hear from you.
This role will see you undertaking a broad range of assessments, inspections, investigations and rectification actions to protect the natural and built environment of the Port Stephens Local Government Area.
You will find yourself working in the field and office whilst undertaking a mixture of compliance functions, including conducting witness and offender interviews, issuing Notices and Orders, drafting of court related documents, undertaking swimming pool barrier assessments and issuing of Building Information Certificates

The Compliance Team sits under the Community Futures Directorate of PSC. Within this section you will find yourself surrounded by a passionate team of professionals, consisting of Compliance Officers, Environmental Health Officers, Rangers and Administration Officers.
The Compliance team love creative problem solving and have a balanced and practical approach in assisting both Council and the Community in addressing critical environmental issues. With the variety of matters that come to the Compliance Team, you won’t be bored!
This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time working 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
Base Salary Range: $82,208 - $96,718 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $19,364 motor vehicle allowance + $2,464 retention allowance
You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

Tertiary qualifications in Government Investigations, Town Planning, Construction Certification, Environmental Health, Environmental Science or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in a Compliance or Investigatory role
Developed knowledge and experience with relevant legislation (particularly Local Government Act 1993, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Swimming Pools Act 1992, Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997)
