Details: The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking a highly motivated Business Development & Partnerships Manager to support the CIT Solutions Transition Group.

The Business Development & Partnerships Manager reports to the Director, Future Skills Growth and Partnerships and is responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintain strong working relationships with clients, peak bodies, community organisations and funding stakeholders to generate repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in priority sectors in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan, manage, and support the delivery of business development campaigns, programs, and partnerships to ensure they are effectively executed.
  • Coordinate project teams of internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery against timeframes and objectives.
  • Individually and as a member of a team, prepare various written documents including Executive briefs, business cases, proposals, and tailored pitch documents.
  • Contribute ideas and foster a culture of continuous improvement by providing input into team performance improvement through knowledge-sharing and best practice approaches.
  • Professionally represent the Branch and CIT at stakeholder and partner engagements, meetings, and internal forums with all levels of stakeholders including industry, community, tertiary education sector and government.
  • Identify and escalate risks that impact delivery, budget, or strategic alignment and advise the Director on mitigation strategies or stakeholder considerations.
  • Promote high quality client service principles, practices and attributes fostering productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the ACT Government.
  • Maintain effective project management practices, including record keeping, milestone tracking, risk management, and internal reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and review of the Branch’s strategic and operational plans and business development strategies.
  • Review and contribute to continuous improvement of business processes and business development, including opportunity tracking, conversion rates, and partner satisfaction.
  • Maintain awareness of commercial trends, innovation models, and funding programs relevant to skills development and education partnerships.
  • Assist in identifying and qualifying business opportunities in targeted industries and government sectors.
  • Professionally challenge existing or proposed practices, contribute ideas, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within CIT.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety and contribute to a safe, inclusive workplace.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the work of the team, the Division and the organisation.

This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.
