u&u Recruitment Partners is proud to be partnering with a leading organisation in their industry sector to recruit an experienced IT Field Support Technician. With over 80 sites nationally and 25 locally in Melbourne, this organisation is committed to providing high-quality technical support across all sites.
About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a base salary of $90,000–$110,000 plus superannuation, depending on prior experience. The role is based in Melbourne’s CBD, with hybrid work flexibility, and requires extensive travel to sites across Melbourne at least three days per week. A company car will be accessible from the CBD office for these visits.
As the IT Field Support Technician, you will provide Level 1–2 technical support across multiple sites, including device setup, troubleshooting, and network support. You will play a critical role in ensuring staff at these sites are supported with reliable IT services and will be a trusted, customer-facing point of contact for all technology-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Level 1–2 onsite support across multiple sites, ensuring minimal downtime;
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues both onsite and remotely;
- Install and configure end-user devices, including laptops, tablets, mobiles, and peripherals;
- Support site staff with IT queries, providing excellent customer service and clear communication;
- Manage equipment inventory, upgrades, and replacement cycles; and
- Collaborate with the broader IT team to ensure consistency and escalate issues where required.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in IT support, ideally with field or multi-site exposure;
- Strong background in Level 1–2 technical support, including hardware, software, and networking;
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support non-technical users;
- A valid full driver’s licence and comfort with regular travel across metro and regional sites;
- Customer-first mindset, with proven ability to manage competing demands and deliver timely solutions; and
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g. Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, ITIL Foundation) are desirable.
