The Callista NextGen Project at Charles Darwin University (CDU) is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a cross-functional program with a strong focus on data and systems integration.

About the Position
As the Technical Business Analyst, you will play a critical part in aligning business needs with Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS) through structured analysis, stakeholder engagement, and solution design. Working closely with business units, subject matter experts, and technical teams, the Technical Business Analyst will lead the documentation of requirements, process analysis, solution design, and implementation support. The role also provides specialist expertise to a multidisciplinary project team, contributing to the delivery of scalable, high-impact solutions across the University.

About You
To be successful, you will require:

  • Completion of bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field and/or a combination of relevant experience and education
  • Demonstrated experience as a Technical Business Analyst on complex, enterprise-level projects — experience in the higher education sector is highly regarded.
  • Proven skills in business process analysis and the ability to deliver scalable, efficient solutions.
  • Proficiency with a broad range of tools, including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau, Postman, Swagger, Jira, Confluence, UML/BPMN diagramming tools
  • Strong ability to elicit, document, and manage business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to engage both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience supporting project delivery, particularly through testing coordination, documentation development, and change management/adoption activities.
  • Experience using AgilePM, Scrum, IIBA, ECBA, BABOK is preferred.

Level 8:

  • Completion of postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in the related field and extensive relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Agile delivery environments with a broad understanding of ICT systems and integration platforms, ideally MuleSoft or similar (e.g., Boomi, Workato), including platform administration and optimisation.
  • Strong SQL skills are highly desirable — including the ability to write, optimise, and troubleshoot queries in support of integration, reporting, and application data needs.

Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and NT Working with Children clearance. Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 7/8. The base salary will be in the range of $96,559 - $122,491 per annum.
The total remuneration package will be in the range of $112,974 - $143,314 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
