As we continue to grow our operations, we are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to strengthen our tendering and cost management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for steel fabrication and installation projects, including material takeoffs, labour allocation, and equipment requirements

Analyse architectural and structural drawings to determine project scope and calculate steel quantities, weights, and fabrication requirements

Source and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate cost data

Prepare detailed tender submissions, including project schedules, methodology statements, and risk assessments

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to develop cost-effective project solutions

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of steel material prices, welding consumables, and construction market rates

Review project specifications and client requirements to identify scope changes and variations

Prepare variation cost assessments and claims documentation during project execution

Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and verify measurement accuracy

Develop and maintain estimating databases, templates, and cost libraries for steel fabrication projects

Participate in pre-tender meetings and client presentations to clarify project requirements

Conduct post-project cost analysis to refine estimating accuracy and identify improvement opportunities

Monitor project budgets and provide cost control support to project teams

Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably with steel fabrication, structural steel, or building construction

Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, connection types, welding methods, and installation techniques

Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural drawings and construction specifications

Experience with estimating software and quantity takeoff tools

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for cost calculations and data analysis

Strong mathematical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail

Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
