About the Opportunity:

Are you a visionary library professional with a passion for innovation, systems, and inclusive access to information? We’re looking for a dynamic leader to shape the future of library services in Darwin.

As the (Senior) Coordinator Library Systems & Collections, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, innovation, and management of our library systems and collections across four vibrant branches.

This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on community access to diverse, high-quality library services.

Working as part of the Library & Family Services leadership team, you'll guide a skilled and motivated group of staff - including librarians, ICT specialists, and trainees - while collaborating with key stakeholders locally and across the Territory.

What you’ll be doing:

Leading the development and innovation of library systems and digital services

Overseeing inclusive, accessible, and responsive collections for all community members

Providing strategic insight into future library needs, technologies, and opportunities

Managing people, projects, and resources to deliver on operational and strategic goals

Representing City of Darwin in key library networks and partnerships

Collecting, analysing, and reporting on library usage data to inform decision-making and demonstrate service impact

What we’re looking for:

We’re seeking someone who brings:

Strong leadership and project management experience

Expertise in library systems and collection development

A passion for delivering equitable and engaging public library services

Strategic thinking, innovation, and a collaborative approach

A commitment to serving a diverse community

What you need to have?

· Bachelor’s degree in library/information services, Information Technology or similar

· Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a relevant leadership role

· A current NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)

· Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence

· Ability to obtain a National Police Records Check
