Your Next Employer
Our client is a well-established player in the broadacre cropping space, blending innovation with practical systems to drive performance. Their 9,500ha aggregation near Oaklands, NSW, has undergone significant investment in machinery and infrastructure and is supported by a capable, motivated team. With a culture built on accountability, continuous improvement, and resilience, they back their people to grow with the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Farm Manager, you’ll play a key role in day-to-day operations - guiding seasonal teams, coordinating inputs, and ensuring on-farm activities run smoothly and safely. You’ll work alongside a Senior Farm Hand and a team of casuals, balancing hands-on tasks with planning and supervision. It’s a practical leadership role with genuine exposure to the commercial side of large-scale cropping.
This position is more than just a job - it’s an opportunity to be part of an operation that values initiative, accountability, and community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support casual and permanent staff across daily activities (note: during seeding and harvest, your focus will be team management—not machine operation).
- Oversee general operations, including spraying, spreading, and seeding.
- Assist with planning and coordination of chemical applications and seasonal programs.
- Operate and maintain a well-resourced modern fleet, including camera boom sprayers and late-model John Deere machinery.
- Drive a safety-first approach and embrace farm systems and digital tools.
- Take ownership of your work—proactive, not reactive.
This role is well-suited to someone looking to step up into farm management or a Farm Manager looking to take a step back.
What You Bring:
- Strong dryland cropping experience and leadership capability.
- Ability to guide teams and work constructively with seasonal staff.
- Competence in machinery operation and maintenance—particularly spraying, spreading, and seeding.
- A practical, independent mindset with solid communication skills.
- HC licence desirable, not essential.
- Individuals looking to step up are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Gain:
- Package: $85k - $95k base + Super + overtime (paid above 40hrs/week). Equivalent to $115k-$125k base, calculated on a 52-hour week.
- Housing: 3-bedroom house with utilities included.
- Vehicle: Company ute (reasonable personal use) and phone allowance.
- Growth: Ongoing development in a progressive business with exposure to farm planning and leadership.
