As a Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef & Sous Chef in running kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality dishes, and maintaining a smooth workflow. Your responsibilities include overseeing food preparation, training and guiding kitchen staff, assisting with ordering and managing inventory, and ensuring that hygiene and food safety standards are strictly adhered to. You will collaborate closely with the culinary team to execute innovative menus, handle daily kitchen activities, and ensure timely delivery of orders during service hours. Additionally, you will assist in managing food costs, controlling waste, and optimizing kitchen efficiency. Strong experience under pressure, organizational skills, and a passion for culinary excellence are key attributes for success in this role.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Support the Head Chef & Sous Chef kitchen in coordinating daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks.
● Prepare and cook dishes under the guidance of senior chefs, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to restaurant standards
● Guide and train kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards.
● Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency in line with restaurant standards.
● Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
● Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor stock levels to avoid shortages.
● Collaborate with the culinary team in creating new menus and seasonal specials.
● Monitor and control food costs, waste, and portion sizes for maximum profitability.
● Assist in managing service during peak hours by ensuring timely preparation and plating orders in collaboration with the kitchen team.
● Maintain proper use of kitchen equipment, performing basic upkeep and promptly reporting any issues to senior chefs.kitchen equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions.
● Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and ensuring adequate coverage during shifts.
