The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide a critical role within the Security and Intelligence Division.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria (CV) operates Victoria's adult corrections system. It ensures prisoners are safely and securely contained and aims to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
The Security and Intelligence Division (SID) within Corrections Victoria provides a range of state-wide security-related, emergency management and intelligence services. SID consists of the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, the Security and Emergency Services Group, the Security Standards Unit, Emergency Management Unit, Electronic Monitoring Services and the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit.
The division is responsible for the acquittal of several key strategic functions within CV including Security Risk Management, Electronic Monitoring, Correctional Emergency Response, and Emergency Management including exercising plans and contingencies, and Intelligence.
About the Role
The Senior Project Manager reports to the Assistant Commissioner, Security and Intelligence Division and supports this role through the provision of strategic advice. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing a range of high level operational and strategic projects, the development and implementation of policy and supports SID leadership in the management and delivery of projects within their portfolios. The Senior Project Manager works with a range of stakeholders within SID and across government to manage and coordinate timely and accurate responses on behalf of the division.
This role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement, provide high-level advice and deliver effective and timely actions.
Some of your duties will include:
- Manage a range of high-level and complex operational and strategic projects relating to the responsibilities of the Security and Intelligence Division.
- Provide high quality, authoritative and strategic advice to, and on behalf of, the Assistant Commissioner, Security and Intelligence Division, on complex and sensitive issues.
- Resolve complex and sensitive issues with system-wide impact involving a number of stakeholders and requiring integrated solutions.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in managing the design, development and implementation of projects, policy, and service delivery in a complex environment.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills with an ability to analyse complex operational and policy issues.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of strategic advice, policy, and operational frameworks within a complex environment.
Qualifications
- There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however qualifications in a relevant discipline would be well regarded.
